From Long Island to Canton — Two Decades of Building, One Standard.

It started on Long Island.

We opened our doors in 2003 as Bill's Creative Carpentry, Inc. in Long Island, New York — the way most good builders start, working for family and friends, one job at a time, letting the work do the talking.

Long Island is a crowded, demanding market. Reputation is the only currency that matters there. Over eighteen years, we built one.

Then everything stopped.

The pandemic shut us down for three months, and the uncertainty stretched on well past that. Rather than limp forward, we made the harder call: pause operations and take a hard look at what came next.

Georgia kept pulling us back.

We'd been visiting family here for years. Every trip, the same things stood out — the natural beauty, how genuinely welcoming people were, the pace of life. The more seriously we looked at starting over, the more obvious the answer became.

In February 2021, we relocated to Canton, Georgia.

We found a gap worth filling.

Before reopening, we studied the local market. Two things stood out.

There was a missing middle. Plenty of handymen for small jobs. Plenty of large builders for new construction. Very few mid-sized companies equipped to take on a full kitchen, a whole basement, or a complete home renovation — and actually see it through.

And the housing stock was ready. Much of Cherokee County and North Atlanta went up in the late '80s and '90s with builder-grade finishes. Sound homes underneath, dated on the surface. Exactly the work we'd spent two decades doing.

So we reopened. And to mark the new chapter, we rebranded as North South Construction, Inc.

How a Project Works

1. Free In-Home Estimate. We visit your home, measure the space, review the scope, and discuss your budget. No charge, no obligation.
2. Detailed Written Proposal. You receive a line-item written proposal within two to three business days. Every material, labor category, and timeline is documented.
3. Permit & Scheduling. We pull all required permits and build a project schedule with start and milestone dates. Material lead times are factored into the schedule before work begins.
4. Build Phase. Your project manager oversees daily site activity and coordinates all trades. You receive weekly updates and can reach your manager directly with any questions.
5. Final Walkthrough. We walk the completed project with you, address any final items, and provide your written workmanship warranty before we consider the project closed.
